[music |mountain jumper-crooked still]

Life has been amazing recently! tiring, but amazing.

falconridge was perfect, as usual. I go kinda crazy there... I was dancing insanely, and didn't much care what people thought. YAY! and the mud... it made me happy! when was the last time you got to squish your feet in it? twas awesome, and squashy, and delicious. heeheeee! of course, the fire was not so cool, and walking into the tent to find it half full of water wasnt great, but it was totally overwhelmed by the amazing advanced beth molaro/airdance contra, and learning zydeco dancing from marvin, and watching tracy grammer perform gentle arms of eden, and yodeling along with gandalf murphy, and hearing the nields do easy people, and wandering around doing whatever i pleased. all was wonderful. wheee!

i met sooo many people too. marvin, and payton (and his girlfriend, margaret), and ader (sp?), and zoe, and soooo many more people whose names are escaping me. it's so much fun. and i got to hang out with rose, anna, chris, margaret, jill, jeff, del, alex from maine, molly, iggy, etc. etc. etc.

anyway... on the way back we stopped at mcdonalds so that iggy could get coffee, and molly and i kind of sat there complaining, "it's toooo clean... the people aren't hippies... the guys aren't wearing skirts... the women aren't wearing skimpy shirts... they don't have muddy feet!" it was sad. oh well.

sooo then i got back... and i had to work the next night, but margaret and i got off early so we went to candy go nuts and bought 5 dollars worth of random candy and then went night swimming, and phosphorescense attached themselves to margaret cause that's how awesome she is, and it was beautiful! it was also funny, cause a random truck pulled up at the side of the road down the beach from us, and we both freaked out and ran out of the water and, still dripping wet, pulled clothing on in a split second. the truck just sat there, and there really was no need for panic. oh well *giggles*

then, wednesday night, maggie's band, the easy tease, played in woods hole, and it was so much fun. we danced like crazy to the music, and although it was really loud, it sounded good, and after it we all went to a party at maggies. it was a good time!

anyway, im off to the greenfield contra in a few hours! YAYYYYYY!!!

[music |Sleeeeeeeeping...]

sooo thanks to chris, i have a new favorite song!  it's called Sleeeeeeeeping...  for some reason, i can't get it out of my head... and it amuses me, cause you start out thinking that it's about... uhhh ... well, listen to it, and you'll see... i found a site that has it online where you can listen to it, cause i forgot my copy of it on the cape and felt a need to listen to it. so go to http://www.jukeboxalive.com/album.php?album=247460 and listen to it! now! or else!!! i like it :)

i also have wizards walk and the lovers' waltz stuck in my head, cause chris played both for me from his jay ungar cd, and then we played wizards walk (him on guitar and myself on violin), and then started out trying to figure out the lovers' waltz... but got a bit impatient cause it was beautiful out! so yeah. i love those tunes!!!  they are happiness!

sooo... im off to annas in about an hour for dinner, and then im dancing!!!! wheeeeeee! ive missed the scout house... A LOT!

but I'm earning money! yay!!!  :)

and i have a new nickname!  my coworkers refer to me as Gladdy (it started as Smiley, but then they heard my last name... and you know the rest), although half the time they call me margaret instead by mistake. why, i dont know, cause i dont look at all like her, and we havent worked there together, but whatever. its awesome, cause i respond to it!!! so it all works out.

so yeah.  fireworks last night were beautiful, and it was fun, cause i got to hang out with margaret and becky during them, and then we tried to do five-year-old sparklers, which half worked, and it was a good time :) (although i missed contra, and that was sad... but at least i missed contra FOR something... and it was a something that was awesome!)

im off to margarets now!!! YAY!

So-  I get internet down here, which is rather exciting! I forgot my mom was bringing her laptop!!!

woods hole is lovely! margaret and i got food at Pie In The Sky at 3 AM today- the woman doing the baking there let us in cause "well, you're not sketchy, drunk, men..."  margaret and i kinda looked at each other and went, "yeah, we're not drunk and we're not men.... but we might be a bit sketchy"  it was fun.  and the wonderbars and chai were yummy! and it felt just like summer!!!

then, this morning, i went  for a swim in the rain at nobska... and the water was freezing, but marvelous! i cant wait to go night swimming, although margaret claims its still too cold... and she might be right, but oh well.

and im happy... cause theres still going to be folk dancing on weds here, and contra dancing the first saturday of the month (july 1st!), and i may try to go get a job at the fishmonger... but thats likely to fail. ah well.  and i like seeing summer friends!!!! thats REALLY happy!!!  and more people are arriving soon cause css is starting up in about a week! yay!!!  life is summer-y! (and by summer-y, i mean maaarvelous.)

[music |Way Down the Old Plank Road- The Mammals]

Kevin, Alan, Kate, Heather R, and Dan are some of the coolest people ever!  I was bored out of my mind yesterday, and then Kevin called asking if I was up for having people over in an hour...

So Heather R brought daisys, Kevin brought brownies (not that I could eat them, but it was a nice thought!) and the game therapy (my new favorite game!), and Alan, Kate, and Dan brought themselves, and it was lots of fun!  of course, everytime I laughed/smiled it was rather painful, but it was great fun anyway, and I learned a lot about people from playing therapy- what a funny game!  then kevin and i watched casanova and decided that we had to learn to speak like them... isn't the word "calamity" marvelous?  :)

anyway, today i may actually venture out of the house, although i still kinda have chipmunky cheeks. whatever.  I do believe i may venture to walden pond with people, and then go to contra, although i doubt i'll actually be dancing... oh well! hanging out is good too!!!

[music |When The Stars Go Blue]

YIPPEE! My mouth and I are now getting along!!!  It seems to have stopped swelling, and so far it hasn’t bruised, and I’m happy!  My mom called the doctor today wondering how much longer I should take Advil, since it’s worn off at this point and my mouth doesn’t hurt, and the doctor said I should definitely keep taking it, then asked how much other pain medication I was on.  When my mom said none, the doctor was apparently extremely surprised and said that was very unusual- yay! My mouth really doesn’t hurt anymore, and I don’t have any medication in me!!!  I think it was going to book club that helped it- I got yummy raspberry ice cream there, and I got to listen to good conversation, and that should make anything better, right?

So anyway…  for people who keep asking me my summer schedule, this is it:

This weekend I might go to Woods Hole for Friday through Sunday early morning, assuming my mouth is still happy (Margaret… may I?)

June 24à Leave for Woods Hole, Cape Cod (people better be coming to visit me there, cause I’m not saying goodbye to everyone here before I leave for Woods Hole, and I won’t be coming back here after it to say goodbye!)

August 5-12à Pinewoods for E&A week

August 12à Head to Bard for the three-week orientation!  Maybe I can sneak home for my birthday on September 2, but that’s probably hopeful thinking…

Oh, and I’m amused, cause Aeryn sent me an e-mail from India that says,

“don't have time to write much, but you
should know you have a nine year old admirer here in Kashyem. I showed
him pictures of you and he thinks you are the most beautiful person in
the world. He kept one picture and he's taken to frequently kissing
it. It's rather crazy.”
Oh wonderful! I have an admirer!!! :P  Silly little kids!

I'm also amused that I banged my arm on a fence playing frisbee over a week ago and it hurt for about a week, and now
that it doesn't really hurt anymore, everyone keeps exclaiming, "Oh, what happened to your arm?!" bruises are strange things-
why aren't they there when it hurts the most?!

[music |Banana Pancakes- Jack Johnson]

ugh. wisdom teeth.

so the actual getting wisdom teeth out part wasn't bad.  pretty much all i remember before getting them out is the room getting really spinny and crazy and saying to myself  "whoa- this is insane!", and the main thing i remember afterward is sitting up and telling my mom that the hinge on the door kept splitting in two and moving around... and for some reason, i found it hilarious.  i now can't figure out for the life of me why i thought it was so funny, but that's okay.  i guess i enjoyed it at the time :)

anyway, what is now not cool is sitting at home with ice on my face while my cheeks become the size of small balloons (fortunately, they are merely becoming that size... they aren't there yet, but they are definitely swelling! funfunfun.).  my face is also starting to feel like it got hit with a baseball bat, which does not make me particually happy.  be happy that your face doesn't feel like mine right now! (for some reason, i feel like that should be a "your face" joke, but no, it isn't even close! oh well...).  anyway, at least this whole wisdom tooth thing is over with!!! never again will i have to worry about ridiculous wisdom teeth!!! YAY!

by the way, i never thought that i could get sick of vanilla frappes.  however, you'd be sick of them too if all you had to eat all day were six of them... especially if you really wanted to eat vegetables. or chocolate.

grrrr. my mouth and i aren't getting along.

So, senior safari, after I got over its overwhelmingness, was lots of fun!  got a caricature with anna and then one by myself, posed for a wanted photo, got four airbrush tatoo things, ate from the chocolate fountain, did the bouncy pull-back competition-y thing (haha- i definitely did a flip and practically landed on my head... that was fun!), watched some amazing karaoke, had a field day with the violet light markers (my arm is now beautiful!!!), and watched the hypnotist at 4 in the morning!  it was AMAZING! people are hilarious and wonderful!  so then i went home and slept from 5:40 until 1!  which means i actually got over 7 hours of sleep!!!  and i feel wide awake!  it's scary!!!  but yay... twas a good time, and a nice way to see my class altogether for the last time.

oh, and i graduated from high school.  that made me happy too! :)

mmmk, going to go find some breakfast... and by breakfast i mean lunch, i guess?

and then seussical starring alan was amazing!!! he makes the perfect cat in the hat!  tis marvelous! and dinah, grant, and marianna were also in it, and natty was there, and it's always so weird that i actually know so many people in bedford... there are so many weird connections.  but anyway, the show was awesome, and alan with his crazy cat-in-the-hat skills made me very happy!!!  twas a great night!

[music |Why Do Fools Fall In Love]

Wow- yesterday was an interesting day.  Started off with a physical at 8:30 in the morning where I got blood taken and a shot… I’m terrible with that sorta thing, so that wasn’t a nice way to start off my morning!  Then I got to school assuming that I was late to math, and freaked out cause my class wasn’t in its room… fortunately, Kenny found me as I was freaking out, and informed me that they had just had a lecture about drugs and alcohol in the auditorium, so it was about to be g block.  Phew!

Anyway, the rest of the school day was pretty boring… but risso, swanson, and I, after school, went to the mall (I hadn’t been there in… probably about a year!) and that was fun, but malls have a way of annoying me… oh well. Hanging out with the two of them is always hilarious, and that was wonderful.

Then I got home, and I was talking to Aeryn, who leaves on Monday for India for two months.  Aeryn had gone back and visited the school (Oak Meadow Montessori) that we had attended from first through sixth grade, and she ran into a teacher that we had known from sixth grade.  She inquired after another teacher that we had both loved, Miss Treanna Clinton, and found out that she had passed away a few years ago in a remote village in Africa.  Her family didn’t even find out until a couple months after her death, since it was such a remote village. AHHH! You have to understand, Miss Clinton is that one teacher that I’ll always remember, and I was just talking to my mom a few months ago about how I wanted to find her and tell her that.  Aeryn told me that Miss Clinton had passed away, I hung up the phone… and burst into tears.  Wow.  Miss Clinton was amazing.  She taught us the coolest things ever.  She taught us to stuff our pants with leaves for insulation if we were ever really cold. She even demonstrated doing so, and then couldn’t get them all out again!  It was hilarious.  She also showed us different methods for building a fire, taught us some Swahili (such as the word “jambo”), played soccer with the guys every recess, brought us on a canoe trip (a true feat when you have lots of silly ten year olds to deal with), and, on a walk around Walden Pond, she tried to get us to understand the concept of using peripheral vision by having us walk around with our hands out to the sides of our eyes.  She was my favorite teacher.  She used to tease me whenever I asked her a question…. For example, I remember asking her “May I go to the bathroom,” and her saying, “No.” and then bursting into laughter, and saying “Of course you can!”  She even wrote in my yearbook about how much she loved teasing me. That was our unique relationship.

As Aeryn said, Miss Clinton seemed “invincible,” and there was no reason why she shouldn’t have, since she was extremely young, bright, and driven.  She was amazing, and there is no way I’ll ever forget what she taught me.

So anyway, I got over that unfortunate surprise, and then went and got dinner with Alan at an Indian restaurant in Lexington.  He is really a great guy to be friends with.  I couldn’t stop laughing for about three quarters of the meal.  It was much fun, and it really cheered me up!  Yay!

Okay… I want breakfast!  *tummy growls* Going to go find food!

[music |Nickel Creek]

I'm thoroughly living up life right now! (Although my throat is kinda sore, and has been for over the past two weeks- i'm assuming that it's allergies, and i want it to stop being annoying... hmph.)

Anyway...
-Friday: I went to the adv contra in concord, and it was lots of fun... mike came and that made me happyhappyhappy!!! yay. wonderfullness!

-Saturday: Had the ginger ale in boston, and it was pretty out, and the dancing was fun, and it was marvelous. then went to greenfield with carl for the contra, and rose drove me back (we barely stayed awake... fortunately, rose dropped me at my car which i'd left in sudbury, and carl called me cause he was driving home and trying to stay awake also, so i talked to him and we kept each other awake! phew.)

-Sunday: Slept late... studied for AP bio... went to rapper and learned more morris... and went to sleep!

-Monday: took the bio AP, which wasn't toooo bad... went to the contra at the Scout House which was great fun! played red rover and it was awesome!!! i love acting like an eight year old!

-Today: school was fine... i swear we did nothing important... then went and voted, and my mom and i went and got ice cream to celebrate my first time voting. Now, kevin is BRINGING ME WAFFLES, cause he said he was cooking some and that he could make a double batch and bring me some! isn't he THE coolest?!?!*

*in case you were wondering, the answer is YES! :) Anyone who brings me food can't be anything less!

[mood | drifting off to sleep]

oh wow. the past day has been aMaZiNg. went to greenfield with mike and rose last night and had SO much fun- we might have to go every week! the dancing is just fabulous, although it would be better if i knew more people there... i'll have to work on that! so yeah. it was a marvelous night/morning!

then today, i saw wicked (the musical), which was almost as amazing as when i saw it in NY!!! i went with katie, molly, and lilah, and we even got a backstage tour since joyce's cousin is a cast member in the show... it was SO cool! the props, costumes, and sets are just astounding, and the cast members that we met seemed really friendly... unfortunately, we didn't meet "elphaba", but hey, we met "galinda," and i was happy to just go back stage. we walked out on the stage they performed on, and it is a REALLY small stage. how strange! it doesnt look small from above! anyway, it was wonderful. the monkey costumes also really made me laugh... they have a lot of extra padding to make them look buff, and it is so very strange!

anyway, then i went to rapper, but no one was practicing, and i was too tired to do much anyway... oh well. now im going to go study for my 3 AP exams coming up, and my bio test first thing tomorrow morning. eeek! hopefully im dancing tomorrow night cause im going through dancing withdrawal, and it is so nice right now cause i dont have ALL that much hw! yay! okay, nightnight!
